Its history, its achievements
CHIN BLU III
CHIN BLU III (blue dog = shark in Provençal) is a Bermudan sloop designed by Illingworth & Primrose. With a length of 12.70 meters, its hull is made of acacia with mahogany planking, the deck is made of teak, and the rigging is made of aluminum.

History
CHIN BLU III was built in 1965 by the San Germani shipyard in Lavagna (Italy) for a famous French sailor, Pierre Fabre (former President of the Yacht Club de Cannes), who raced it until 1972, and with whom he won numerous trophies, including several 1st places in the general classification of the Mediterranean Trophy.
She then left for Italy, where she underwent two restorations, one in 1989 and the other in 2014, with a complete overhaul of her underwater hull and deck, a change of the entire rigging, and an engine change.
It is a medium/heavy displacement sailboat, with a long keel and attached rudder, giving it good stiffness to the sail, despite a large sail area.
Efficient in all points of sail, it is however obviously particularly effective upwind in the breeze.
The architect's pencil stroke gave it an impeccable line and aesthetic: the silhouette of the "racer" is recognizable at first glance.
The perfectly crafted and maintained mahogany interior fittings contribute to the timeless charm of this exceptional sailboat.
CHIN BLU III is listed with the AFYT - French Association of Traditional Yachts .
A “Boat of Heritage Interest” labeling process is underway.
